Assignments are set by teachers to test their understanding on the different subjects or topics they are studying. It also tests the ability of the students to come up with logical arguments. Foreign language assignments test the student’s ability to write in a formal and academically accepted manner in a foreign language. - Check on the key vocabulary. Avoid repetition of certain words a lot as it becomes boring to the intended audience. Try and look for many synonyms as you can e.g. instead of using a word like ‘said’ over and over again, one can use’ she claimed that; he outlined etc. Also use for joining phrases like, nevertheless, on the other hand etc.
- See yourself and think like a native speaker when you generating your ideas and placing arguments. If the assignment is on a historical event try and imagine how it must have been like for the people who experienced the events.
